The notion of Truth and its new challenges
The seminar organized by Andrea Bikfalvi aims to clarify the notions of truth and objectivity, often called into question by various intellectual currents. These concepts remain essential, not only for science, but also for society, in the face of current challenges that require interventions based on rationality. The seminar also addresses the influence of “values” and “prior beliefs” in science. The current situation, both in academia and in society, requires in-depth reflection and the development of epistemic tools to respond effectively.
Research residency
Riccardo Cristoferi is interested in the relationship between the structure and properties of materials, with the aim of developing new composites with unique characteristics. Quasicrystalline materials, recently discovered and different from classical structures, are attracting considerable interest in engineering. Although the interaction between periodic microstructures and phase separation has been studied, these approaches are not suitable for more complex heterogeneous materials. His research aims to establish rigorous mathematical foundations for analyzing the interactions between quasicrystalline microstructures and phase transitions.

Cédric Dentant
This writing project aims to tell the story of plants without speaking for them, with the aim of encountering them in a different way. Their way of existing, very different from ours, seems almost extraterrestrial. To describe them, the author therefore chooses to venture into the extraordinary, into extreme areas such as high altitudes, where humans do not live, but where plants thrive. [learn more]
Photography Prize
Eponine Momenceau
Éponine Momenceau works on traces and memory. Her project focuses on the attempt to experience time in an image. It is a work on the decomposition of time by recording very short sequences of video images, the objective being to format a corpus of images in the form of a series.[learn more]
Dana Cojbuc
The series En levko will be a continuation of his poetic and plastic research, taking as its starting point the mineral and lunar landscape of the village of Volax, on the island of Tinos in Greece. This work will allow him to deepen his explorations around white, considered in its totality as color, presence and essence. [Learn more]
