Since 1981, the Fondation des Treilles has hosted high-level international research teams in all fields of science, literature and the arts as part of interdisciplinary seminars. The foundation’s seminars focus on original themes with a limited number of participants, thus encouraging exchanges and discussions. They last 6 days, welcoming 15 people from different disciplines, and including at least 2 young researchers. About half of the participants come from other European countries.

The foundation provides you with the best conditions to devote yourself entirely to the project for which you have been selected.

YOUR STAY

Seminars are scheduled from March to July and from September to November, following a fixed timetable provided on the application form.
The travel costs of participants can be covered within the limit of fixed geographical fares mentioned in the organizational guidelines. However, it is strongly recommended that organizers seek external funding.
Transfers from Les Arcs-Draguignan train station or Nice airport, along with accommodation and meals are covered by the foundation.
Participants commits to stay for the entire duration of the seminar.
The month following your seminar, you are required to submit a two pages report on your research, which will be published on the [foundation’s research blog].

HOW TO APPLY

The organizer proposes a seminar project by submitting the application form before the deadline
Applications should include the names of three referees.
The scientific committee reviews each application.
An application submitted in the autumn 2024 will be selected for a stay at the 1st semester of 2026. (evaluations in February 2025).
An application submitted from May 1 to September 15, 2025 will be selected for a stay during the second half of 2026 (assessments in November 2025).
You will be notified of their decision about one month after the meeting.
Refer to the calls for applications to determine when to apply.

Il est indispensable que la demande s'appuie sur une argumentation détaillée du projet comprenant: un état de la question, l'importance du sujet proposé, les enjeux scientifiques de la rencontre, les perspectives ouvertes par celle-ci, les rencontres sur ce sujet (passées et à venir) dont vous avez connaissance et enfin une bibliographie succincte sur le sujet (minimum 3 pages, maximum 5 pages).

The request must include a detailed statement of your project including: current status of the question, the subject importance and topicality, the scientific objectives of the meeting, the eventual past conferences held, as well as the new perspectives and gatherings it may open up, and finally a short bibliography on the matter (minimum 3 pages, maximum 5 pages).

Nous tiendrons compte de vos priorités dans la mesure du possible. Pour information, les séjours ne sont pas possibles en décembre, janvier et août car la Fondation des Treilles est fermée.

By filling out this form you are only applying for a seminar in 2026. Please suggest 4 dates in order of preference including at least one in March, October or November (if not filled in correctly your application will have to be reset). We will take into account your priorities as much as possible. Please note that stays are not possible in December, January and August because the Fondation des Treilles is closed.

Frais de voyage/ Travel costs

Il est fortement recommandé aux organisateurs de rechercher des financements extérieurs. Ce devis doit être établi sur la base des tarifs économiques et de façon précise. Il est indispensable pour la prise en charge des frais par la Fondation des Treilles, et doit être présenté simultanément à la demande. La Fondation se réserve le droit de ne pas prendre en charge la totalité du devis de transport.

Organizers are strongly advised to seek outside funding. The estimate of the travel budget must be based on economy fares. The estimate is essential for the reimbursement of travel expenses by the Fondation des Treilles and must be submitted along with the application. Please note that the Foundation may not be able to fully cover the estimated expenses.
