Organisation rules of seminars and residential studies

  -    -  Organisation rules of seminars and residential studies

Principles of organizing seminars and residential studies (large and small groups)

  • The estate “Les Treilles” has been created to offer suitable conditions for concentration and creativity.

  • Seminars and residential studies are intended for all researchers and all creators. They are open to all fields of knowledge where creativity can express itself beyond the laboratory or the studio.

  • To facilitate the evaluation of your application by the Treilles Scientific Council, your request must include the names of 3 people likely to act as referees.

  • The files are examined each year by the scientific council in November in order to prepare the agenda for seminars and large groups residential studies for year N+2, and the small group residential studies for year N+1.

  • The judgement of the Scientific Council, validated by the Board, is final. You will be informed of its decision in December.

  • The duration of a seminar and a large group residential study is one week, from Monday afternoon to Saturday morning.

  • The maximum duration of an individual or small group residential study stay is 3 weeks, with arrival on Monday afternoon and departure on Saturday morning.

  • Participants are required to stay for the entire duration of the planned stay.

  • Invitations are strictly personal. Spouses and accompanying persons are not invited.

  • One month maximum after the meeting, the organizer must provide a two-page summary of the meeting/stay for publication on the Foundation’s research blog AND a twenty-line synthesis for the Board’s annual activity report.

  • The Fondation des Treilles expects its support to be recognized in any work or publication to which the meeting/ stay has contributed and asks the authors to send it 2 copies.

  • For seminars, the Fondation des Treilles can contribute to covering travel costs within the limit of the estimate appearing in the application file. However, it is strongly recommended for organizers to seek external funding.

  • For residential studies, only taxi costs (booked by the Foundation) to and from Nice airport or Les Arcs-Draguignan train station are covered.
