Democratic Challenges in the Face of “Anti-Gender” Policies in Europe: Analysis and Critical Perspectives
The closing seminar of the European RESIST project, led by Marianne Blidon, aims to analyze anti-feminist and anti-LGBT+ discourses, mobilizations, and policies in Europe, as well as their effects on the people affected and on democratic values. Taking a transnational approach, RESIST has studied the diversity of these movements, their impacts, and the forms of resistance they provoke. The seminar aims to develop a new theoretical framework and prepare a collective publication on this topic.
FSER Award Winners’ Seminar
This triennial seminar, organised by Patrick Mehlen and Cédric Blanpain, brings together the award winners of the Schlumberger Foundation for Education and Research. These are leaders of research teams in the biomedical field whose excellence has been recognized through a grant for their laboratory. These meetings provide an opportunity to share the progress of their work, which covers a wide range of fields within biology. This time also allows for a review of the activities and future prospects of the Cercle FSER association.
Research residencies
The social world of horses
Odile Petit’s project involves writing a book on the social life of horses, based on research in ethology. The authors aim to move beyond traditional images of horses – in the field or at the riding school – to provide a better understanding of their social behaviour. The book will address issues such as relationships between horses, coordination within the group, leadership, the social learning of young horses and the consequences of isolation. The book will combine scientific explanations with field accounts, in order to give readers a behind-the-scenes look at the research and the adventures experienced with the animals.

Isabelle Scotta
Her residency project focuses on Nice, a seaside resort that straddles the line between dream and fiction. Following Royan and Deauville, her exploration of French seaside resorts continues in Nice, the legendary capital of the Riviera. With its Belle Époque architecture, modernist influences, iconic hotels and the Promenade des Anglais, the city embodies a setting shaped by the collective imagination. Through a nocturnal, cinematic photographic narrative, the project will bring to life the image of a land of contrasts. [Find out more]

Benjamin Attahir
His project Love is louder is a concerto for clarinet, fans and symphony orchestra. “In addition to their integration as modulated sound sources throughout this piece, these objects – incongruous, you might say – will help create an olfactory dramaturgy, opening up a new space of resonance for the soundscapes through which the soloist will guide us.” The work was commissioned by the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France/Schleswig-Holsteinisches Sinfonieorchester/Buffet Crampon, Paris.
