Generalized Optimal Transport and Applications
This seminar, led by Luca Nenna, Paul Pegon and Maxime Laborde, will bring together experts to discuss advances in optimal transport within the framework of the ANR GOTA project. It will focus on theories and numerical methods for tackling complex problems (multi-marginal optimal transport, entropic transport, branched transport) and their applications in various fields such as risk management, multi-population modelling, urban planning and mean-field games.

Envisioning cooking in the era of its popularization: the illustrations in Chef Jules Gouffé’s books published by Librairie Hachette (1867–1873)
The illustrations in chef Jules Gouffé’s books, commissioned by Librairie Hachette from the artist Eugène Ronjat between 1867 and 1873, are the subject of a book by Frédérique Desbuissons (University of Reims) entitled Imagining Cuisine in the 19th Century. This book examines the role of images in popularizing the culture of ‘fine dining’ in the 19th century, as well as the evolution of decorative cuisine inherited from Antonin Carême. The research stay at the Fondation des Treilles aims to complete the section on the rise of a post-revolutionary gastronomic culture and Hachette’s role in its dissemination. [learn more]

Lumières d’Europe
Lumières d’Europe (European lights), founded in 2021, is an academy and chamber music festival dedicated to nurturing young talent in Europe. The Academy, led by the renowned violinist David Grimal, offers a ten-day programme in which experienced artists work with these talented young musicians in a collaborative setting. For the upcoming session at the Fondation des Treilles, the theme ‘Friendship’ will focus on the connections between music, philosophy and human relationships, through a study of Brahms, C. Schumann, R. Schumann and Schubert. [learn more]
Author’s residency
Ella Balaert
is returning to Les Treilles for a writing residency to work on her novel, whose main character is a ventriloquist puppeteer. This novel follows on from her previous books, which explore the themes of the mask, the relationship between reality and fiction, and madness.
Isabelle Desesquelles
Her plan is to write the story of two women: a photographer and a novelist. The first photographed many scholars, painters, poets and novelists who were part of Victorian high society. The second wrote about the greatest novelists: Henry James […], the Brontë sisters, Leo Tolstoy and many others. [Learn more]
Composition residency
Benjamin Attahir
is coming for the second time to work on his concerto for clarinet, fans and symphony orchestra: Love is louder. The basis of his musical composition is the score created by the artist Erich Berghammer using resins, flowers and plant essences. [learn more]
